The British Tag

Hello! I'm feeling a wee bit awful today as I've come down with the flu recently but fortunately, I've been scheduling posts for a while so I'm hoping I will barely even remember how ill I feel whilst writing this when it actually goes up. Ever since Sammi from The Beauty Crush posted this tag, I've wanted to do it so I decided that today is the perfect time to sit down and do it!

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day and how many sugars?
I went through a stage where I was reeeally bad with my tea drinking/general caffeine intake so for the past few months I've been trying to cut down! I have one first thing in the morning, usually a little one if I had a free period during the day and then one with my dinner in the evening, all with one sugar in. The sugar is also another factor as to why I wanted to cut down!

2. Favourite part of your roast?
I love Aunt Bessie's Roast Potatoes (but probably because they had a coating that makes them seem more like chips than roasties, oops!), Yorkshire Puddings and whenever my mum decides to do them, Pigs in Blankets. All smothered in gravy, of course!

3. Favourite dunking biscuit?
I'm not the biggest fan of dunking in my own tea, because I hate the leftover little biscuit-y bits at the bottom, but if my mum has a cuppa and I don't, I'll always dunk in hers! I love having biscuits with tea though, especially Custard Creams, Dark Chocolate Digestives and ooh erm sandwich biscuits from Lidl!

4. Favourite quintessentially British pass time?
Queueing. I think this is something that only British people will truly understand but when me and my friends went to Mallorca this summer, that was the thing that we missed most about home! You foreigners just don't understand the need to wait in an orderly line

5. Favourite word?
More of a phrase than a word, but I love 'bits and bobs'!

6. Cockney rhyming slang?
I'm not too familiar with any Cockney rhyming slang although for some reason in my house my stepdad insists on calling the phone a 'dog and bone', which I'm assuming is rhyming slang!

7. Favourite sweet?
Most hard-boiled sweets seem really British to me and my favourites are Strawberries and Creams. However if this is just sweets in general then it would probably be Haribo, which is obviously German!

8. What would your pub be called?
I've never really thought about this before.. Is it sad that I really like the name The Common Room for a pub? If The Farmer's Arms is allowed, can The Blogger's Arms become a thing? I think this is why I'm not put in charge of naming pubs...

9. No.1 British person?
That's too hard of a question to answer! My Top 5 would probably have to be Ed Sheeran, Emma Watson, JK Rowling, Boris Johnson and Prince Harry. But that's just if we're counting people who are alive, let's not even get started on all of the brilliant late writers we've produced over the years!

10. Favourite shop/restaurant?
If I had to pick a brand that screams 'British Clothing' to me, it would be Boden. Oh, if only I had the money to shop in there more often!

11. What British song pops into your head?
I love all the classic BritPop, especially Blur! Other than that, as a general group of songs, it would have to be the Children in Need charity singles, which I buy every year. The one I remember most vividly is Peter Kay doing Amarillo quite a few years ago!

12. Marmite
NO

If you're feeling particularly patriotic (or just Brit-proud if you're not from here!) feel free to do this tag now, or check our Very British Problems on Twitter who full credit for the image in this post goes to. I also have their book, which is hilarious and so very relatable!
