January 2015 Birchbox

I recently subscribed to Birchbox to see what I think of it so I thought that today I'd do a quick little overview of what I got in this month's box!  This month they've teamed up with Women's Health to create a box that creates two of my favourite things - beauty and fitness. I'm not sure whether I'll be keeping the boxes for my Birchboxes every month like most people tend to do, but I certainly will be keeping this one - it's so darn cute!

Inside the box is:
Stila Lip Glaze in Glitter - full size! I used to own a few of these lip glosses but then I realised that I actually really don't like lipgloss so I gave them all to my little sister. For a lipgloss, they're a nice formulation - just not for me!
Electric Hair Hydrate Shampoo - I've not tried this product yet since it's such a tiny size, I might save it for if there's ever a time when I'm going away for one or two nights and am going to need a shampoo. It's rare for me to feel particularly strongly about shampoo anyway!
Agave Healing Oil Treatment - I've only used this a few times but so far, I love it! It's a really lightweight oil but it makes my hair feel really sleek - not really one if you like a lot of volume but it's perfect for me. It also smells like one of the Lynx shower gels which is one of my favourite smells - Excite, maybe?
Dr Jart+ Clear Away Gel - This was a really peculiar product as the one time I used it, it really seemed to exfoliate my skin, in that I had little bits of skin end up all over my face where it was peeling off! A bit of a weird feeling, but it hasn't seemed to irritate it at all. The packaging only recommends using it 1-2 times a week so I'm going to give it a few more days and then try it again!

ActiveBod Cooling Finish Lotion - I haven't used this yet but it's gone straight into my kit bag for the next time I go to the gym and I'm really excited to try it! It's meant for use after exercise to cool your skin and re-energise it so I'm looking forward to seeing how it works
Embrace Matcha Green Tea - This is one sachet of completely pure green tea which I'm a little bit scared to try, since I don't typically like green tea unless it's got lots of other flavours thrown in with it to mask the flavour What's unique about this tea is that it's not a bag that diffuses, it's actually a powder so I may take the plunge and try it just for the novelty of it!

And finally, there were two little extras thrown into the box since it's a fitness-themed month. The first is a Birchbox Pilates Band, which is a bright pink resistance band that you can use during workouts to help improve toning and to make exercises more effective. Personally, I'd never really take this to the gym with me, but it may be something to incorporate into home workouts! The last thing, which I thought was a really cute touch, was a Little Book of Bite-Sized Challenges, such as 'Sit Smarter' to improve your posture and 'Eat Veggies for Breakfast' - there's a wide range within the 12 challenges and I just thought it was a nice little addition to the box to encourage subscribers of it to do little things to improve their overall health and fitness!

What do you think of this months' box? I'm excited to see what comes in February!

    1. I think Glossybox is a little bit too luxury for me personally - I would never repurchase any of the products I got due to their high price tags! x
