The Perfect Party Palette?!

The palette I'm going to be talking about today is Make Up Revolution's U R The Best Thing, which contains a whopping 32 eyeshadows - 20 shimmers, 12 mattes.

First of all, I just want to comment on the packaging - it's a sleek, shiny black plastic which feels very sturdy. So sturdy that sometimes I've struggled to open it! The palette comes with two sponge applicators which are typical of a lot of high street palettes and personally, I would rather they didn't include them at all! I really like the hot pink writing on the front of the palette, something about it seems really fresh and young, but I'm not really a fan of the name - it's like they're trying too hard to be 'down with the kids'!
As you can see, the palette is mostly made up of neutrals, but there's such a wide range of colours within that! There's golds, coppers, purples, blues, olives, pinks and plenty of browns - basically anything you could want to create a party look!
If I had bought this palette looking for some nice matte shades, I think I would have been disappointed as they are not the best quality or the most pigmented. However, I'm not really a fan of mattes - especially at this time of year - and I was blown away by the glitter shades!

Here I've swatched just a few of my favourite shades and as you can tell, the glitters all have amazing pigmentation and are so buttery. These shadows don't contain massive chunks of glitter like a lot of other high street shadows do, it's a subtly shimmer that blends really easily on the eyes.
As for staying power, I was really impressed by these. I layered them over the top of a Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow, which I do for every eye look, and so far they've survived a Christmas Party, an 8 hour shift at work and going to see my sister's nativity play!
Just to sum this post up - if you're looking for a palette with some perfect shimmery eye shadows for this festive season, this palette is definitely one to consider. Plus, at only £5.99 from Superdrug it's perfect for anyone, whether you're looking to expand your palette collection or if you're buying a gift for someone brand new to make up!

    1. I just think it's a bit tacky to be honest but I can definitely get over that for the sake of how pretty it is! x

  2. This looks like such a good palette! I wouldn't have expected them to last at all based on the price but lasting an 8 hour shift sounds pretty impressive to me.

    1. I find that eyeshadow in general lasts quite well on me but yeah, I wasn't disappointed by these! A little bit of creasing after a while but nothing major, they're really nice x
